"The Red Tent"
Hofstra University, Spring Dance 2020
(Cancelled due to COVID-19)
Choreographer: Dyane Harvey-Salaam
Costume Designer: Jacky Sanger

This piece was inspired by the notion of a “red tent,” or a place where women can come together and share in what womanhood means to them. It was going to feature 11 dancers and a 10’x20’ chiffon “tent” held up by five bamboo poles (pictured to the left in a rehearsal).
Irish-Inspired Dance Piece
Hofstra University, Spring Dance 2020
Cancelled due to COVID-19
Choreographer: Robbie Cook
Costume Designer: Jacky Sanger

This piece was cancelled before production began, but I created a sample dress in quarantine, modeled above by Colleen Gorham.
My design for this piece incorporates elements of renaissance clothing and Irish step dancing garments, featuring green as the primary color with each dancer having an accent color for their sleeves and trim. The sleeves would have been removed for the final movement of the piece which has more lively and quick movements.
